According to the data released by the International Aluminium Institute (IAI), the global primary aluminum production in January 2025 increased by 2.7% year-on-year. The production in the same period last year was 6.086 million tons, and the revised production in the previous month was 6.254 million tons.

In that month, the average daily global primary aluminum production was 201,700 tons, remaining the same as the previous month.

It is estimated that China’s primary aluminum production in January was 3.74 million tons, slightly higher than the revised 3.734 million tons in December 2024. The production in other regions of Asia was 411,000 tons, higher than the 409,000 tons of the previous month.
