Sarginsons Industries Launches AI-Driven Aluminum Technology for Lighter Transport Components

Sarginsons Industries, a British aluminum foundry, has introduced AI-driven designs that reduce the weight of aluminum transport components by nearly 50% while maintaining their strength. Through optimizing the placement of materials, this technology can reduce weight without sacrificing performance.

As part of the £6 million Performance Integrated Vehicle Optimisation Technology (PIVOT) project, this breakthrough enables Sarginsons Industries to predict the mechanical properties of entire castings, including simulations of vehicle crash performance.

The company uses fully recycled aluminum with the aim of significantly reducing carbon emissions and vehicle weight. This technology is expected to produce the first physical castings in the summer, making it possible to have lightweight yet robust transport components, and making cars, airplanes, trains, and drones lighter, more environmentally friendly, and more cost-effective.
